Steps of a Good Man
Debut Single
Infectious, easy-grooving soul — blends jazz, gospel, and R&B with cool, choir-like backing vocals.
Music that shifts the atmosphere — a soulful blend of jazz, R&B, and gospel designed to take the listener on a journey.
Keyboardist/producer Darren Horn and saxophonist Dr. Sean Holland have combined their extensive and diverse musical backgrounds to create a fresh new sound and vision for the smooth jazz genre. Their trademark is the ability to blend jazz, R&B, and gospel — music that is intensely grooving, uplifting, and designed to take the listener on a journey.
The pair met at a National Day of Prayer gathering in Lansing in 2014. As their friendship grew, so did a shared vision — to make songs that don't just sound good, but have the power to move, influence, and change the atmosphere over a listener's entire day.
Dr. Holland's dynamic sax voicing creates a rich emotional palette that mimics the nuances of a human voice.
Darren Horn focuses on telling stories with music — aiming to hook listeners within the first 14 seconds of a track.
The duo's goal is to produce a sound that can move, influence, and change the atmosphere of any environment.
A highly anticipated new project featuring vocalist Margaret Brown, plus an upbeat funk-jazz follow-up coming this spring.
Horn & Holland's latest single is a soulful love letter — combining Horn's narrative-driven production, Holland's heart-tugging sax, and the rich vocal presence of Margaret Brown. The newest chapter in a catalogue built on emotion, atmosphere, and groove.
Coming Spring 2026: "Make It Count" — an upbeat jazz groove with a bit of funk.
